Photo Exhibition – Landgrabbing

After a decades long conflict that has left millions of people internally displaced, Colombia is now undergoing a peace process with the FARC guerillas, while also looking for a way to develop. But instead of helping rural communities reclaim their lands or make a living off it, the Colombian government – pushed by very powerful agribusiness – is supporting the expansion of huge palm plantations in the country’s conflict areas and also some of its most biodiverse regions.

With little or no support from the government, local communities around the country are trying to make a living against the advance of palm oil growers and menacing armed factions.
