Jan van den Berg

During his fieldwork at the Leiden university he made his first film: Olverenos (1975), about a village in Andalusia, where because of continuous drought, more and more men had to leave the village to look for a living abroad. Since that time he made many documentaries, mostly about people at the cutting edge between cultures.

He founded drsFILM and works together with writers, artists and film makers.

At Pelicam IFF he will present his latest documentary, When Elephants Dance, the Grass Gets Beaten, screened in the Shorts Competition.
