For the second year in a row, we open the applications for the radio journalism workshop held in partnership with the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

For the second consecutive year, Pelicam organizes the workshop of radio journalism in partnership with the International Organisation of La Francophonie, The Regional Francophone Center for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences and the Francophone University Association.
The workshop follows the thematic area of environment protection and is addressed to journalism MA students, as well as young professionals under 35 years, Francophone or Anglophone from the following ten countries: Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
The participants can choose to develop one of the following themes:
*Environmental developments in the Danube Delta in the past 20 years. What are the sings of this development? Is the Delta better protected than before or not? What are the main risks of the degradation of the delta?
*How is the reed harvested in the delta and what are its uses?
*Is professional fishing compatible with the status of biosphere reservation? Under what conditions?
*Is tourism and an opportunity or a threat to the delta?
*Life in the Danube Delta. What are the particularities and the local adaptations regarding the everyday life in a wetland like the Danube Delta?
*The role of the residents in protecting nature and the delta. What local practices deserve preserved and developed?
The workshop will take place in the week 12 to 19 June 2015 in Tulcea. The 10 participants will be trained by Julien Trambouze, journalist at Radio France and journalism professor at the University of Aix-Marseille. Radio coverage will be broadcast during the film festival, and after that they will be made available to partners for wider dissemination.
Selection: The participants must be MA students or young professionals under 35. They will learn to develop writing a radio report, record on the field and edit the final material. The selection will be made by a jury that will focus on the candidate’s motivation. Participants will make a report on one of the above mentioned themes. Good knowledge of French or English is necessary.
Participation: The organizers will bear the full expenses of participation, within the available budget, and issue letters of invitation where a visa is required.
