Our inbox was filled with films, so we declare the submission period over. Hundreds of films have a place in the list Films Pelicam 2017. We have seen most of them and we would like to make more festivals this year, not just one. Meanwhile we are doing only one festival between 8 and 11 June in Tulcea, where you will enjoy a fancy, perfumed and award winning edition.
We took a peek at Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, and our sister festivals from Green Film Network, and we gathered the most thought-provoking documentaries about people and environment. Our list of films is more international than ever. Films from Russia, USA, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, South Korea, Mexico, Thailand, Israel or France have reached our eyes. There are also present new documentaries from Romania.
This year, again, we prepare a selection for the four competitions of the festival: the main competition of feature length documentaries, Black Sea Docs – a selection of documentaries about and from the countries surrounding the Black Sea, Fresh Perspectives – films that offer a new take on environment issues and their solutions, and the short competition. And, because we know you want more, we have made a selection of documentaries out of competition for the audiences of Tulcea and our guests from around the country.
The documentaries will be screened in national premiere at Jean Bart Cultural Centre, Museum of Art, but also in open air spaces during the four days of the festival Pelicam – the International Film Festival on Environment and People.
