Director Story

Michael was a film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. He studied at the San Francisco Institute of Art and the Vienna Film Academy. He began his career as a camera assistant, later working as an image director, eventually becoming a director. Between 1981 and 2013 he made numerous short films, documentaries and feature films internationally acclaimed. In recent years, he dedicated himself to literature, his novel 69 Hotelzimmer being published posthumously. Michael died in Monrovia, Liberia in April 2014, while filming Untitled.
