A scarcely populated village in a remote part of Georgia, sinking in poverty and solitude, suddenly becomes a site for a big change. Hundreds of Chinese workers settle in the area to build a fast railway linking China and Europe, which might lead to the abolishment of the old station and a drastic reshape of the landscape. The inhabitants of the village are waiting for change with both hope and fear: some hope for compensation, planning to leave the village for good, others fear that their houses could be demolished.
