Billionaire brothers Sir Frederick & Sir David Barclay buy themselves into the island of Sark, where only 600 inhabitants live – till then in harmony with nature and with a strong sense of their community. The billionaires plan to turn the island into a luxury holiday resort and challenge the lifestyle of the islanders. A battle begins that splits the community and unfolds a global conflict in an idyllic setting. The trothers remain phantoms in the film as they never enter the battlefield themselves. It is the people of Sark, dealing with invasion and change, whose stories are told.
